Meet the Team

Dr. Mirando is a graduate of Sherman Chiropractic College in Spartanburg, SC and has been practicing since 2001. He is an advocate of family based, heath focused chiropractic care and treats patients 6 months old and up. He uses multiple chiropractic techniques including Gonstead, diversified upper cervical, Pierce, Thompson, and applied kinesiology. He is also certified in extremity adjusting, sports injuries, and treating expectant mothers. In addition to his active practice, Dr. Mirando has been a past President of the D.C. Chiropractic Association. He resides on the eastern shore of Maryland with his wife, two children, and their family dog. Dr. Mirando has been vaccinated since February 3rd 2021.

Dr. Schamis graduated from the University of MD in 1974. He then went on to the National College of Chiropractic and graduated in 1978. Since then he has been in practice in New York City and in Florida. As of 2020 he has now relocated to Washington DC and will be a great asset to our practice. He uses the diversified full spine technique. He is also happily married to the beautiful Ms. Ivy and has enjoyed life with his grown children. Dr Schamis has been fully vaccinated since Feburary 28th 2021.

Dr. Brown is a graduate of Life University in Marietta, GA and has been practicing since 1983. Dr. Brown joined the Mirando Chiropractic Center in 2007 and, after sabbatical in New Mexico, returned to the practice in 2011 in a part time capacity. Dr. Brown brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and techniques to the practice and is certified in applied kinesiology.

Janiene Ausbrooks is a native Washingtonian and a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.  She comes to Mirando Chiropractic Center with a wealth of office experience and for the past thirteen years has worked as an office manager/mental health advocate and public speaker.  She currently resides in the Petworth neighborhood in Washington, DC.

I am a proud graduate of Northern Virginia School of Therapeutic Massage and have an immense love for healing and rejuvenation of the body. I am well versed in Deep tissue, Sports, and Swedish Massage as well as trigger point therapy. Currently, I am studying sports medicine to further increase my knowledge in order to help my clients achieve their goals in both mind and body. I also am a writer and a music producer as well, art is love.

DeAndre is a graduate of Northern Virginia School of Therapeutic Massage, bringing over a year of bodywork and stretch experience. Prior to working at Mirando Chiropractic Center, he assisted with physical therapy for a fully integrated medical office. He believes a patients quality of life can be greatly improved with a combination of chiropractic care and massage therapy.
